The concessions won by Marriot workers include:

  • An increase in hourly wages by $4 an hour, bringing the median hourly wage is $23 an hour
  • The provision of a small pension based on how many years they’ve worked at the company
  • Provision of GPS-enabled panic buttons for housekeepers to alert security staff if they feel unsafe with a guest when cleaning a room.
  • Banning of guests who have a history of sexually harassing workers
