The October Revolution (also known as Red October, the Bolshevik Coup, Bolshevik Revolution, October Uprising, October Coup or the Great October Socialist Revolution) was a revolution in Russia in November 1917, led by Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks, which dissolved the Provisional Government, established socialist control and paved the way for the Russian Civil War and created of the USSR.
