Communalism is a libertarian socialist theory developed by Murray Bookchin, beginning as the 'democratic dimension of anarchism' it was developed as a standalone philosophy. It integrates a significant amount of social ecology and inspired much of Democratic Confederalism, the guiding philosophy of Rojava.
