1700s
- 1782: Gnadenhutten Massacre – Pennsylvania militia round up and executed 96 unarmed pacifist Christian Delaware (Lenape) Indians, including 69 women and children, as revenge for raids against settlers (carried out by other Indians) as well as in expression of general animosity towards all Native Americans. They then plundered and burned their village.
1900s
- 1901: President William McKinley was assassinated by Michigan-born anarchist Leon Czolgosz, in Buffalo, New York.
- 1910: The Los Angeles Times building in Los Angeles was destroyed by dynamite, killing 21 workers. The bomb was apparently placed due to the paper's opposition to unionization in the city
2000s
- 2016: Three men in Garden City, Kansas are arrested for plotting a bombing that would kill 120 Somali immigrants in an apartment complex. The men claimed allegiance to a far right nationalist group called "The Crusaders" and hoped to ignite a religious war.[1]
