The Holocaust or the Shoah was a genocide committed by Nazi Germany that killed around 17 million people. Nazis targeted Jews, queer people, the disabled, leftists, prisoners of war, dissidents, anti-fascists, slavs and other groups deemed 'degenerate' by the regime.
