Life
Family
David was born into a working class socialist family of Polish, German and Jewish descent. His mother was a garment worker and trade unionist. Whilst his father was an ambulance driver in the Spanish Civil War and print worker.
David grew up in New York City, USA in a co-operative housing complex, declaring himself an anarchist at the age of 16. He became an anthropologist after studying at university and spent years doing research in the autonomous regions of Highland Madagascar. He has taught at various universities, being fired at several (and kicked out of apartments) for his involvement with anarchist politics. He currently lives and teaches in London, England.
