Iceland is a liberal capitalist state in Western Europe near Norway, the UK and Greenland. It's generally regarded as one of the most progressive countries in the world.
Positives and Negatives
Positives
- Iceland has the highest rate of trade union membership in the world.
- Iceland is considered the most peaceful country in the world, with low violent crime and participation in no wars in the 20th and 21st century, except for World War II.
- Iceland follows the Nordic Model and provides universal health care and free education for its citizens.
- Iceland has no military except for a lightly armed coast guard.
- Iceland runs almost completely on renewable energy.
Negatives
- The Icelandic government has repeatedly promised to pull out of NATO, but has failed to deliver on said promise.
