Carlos Cortez was a poet, graphic artist, photographer, muralist, anarcho-syndicalist and IWW member.
Life
Born to a Mexican-Indian IWW member and German socialist pacifist, Carlos became involved in radical politics from a young age, refusing to join the army in World War II and becoming involved in graphics work. In 1947, he joined the IWW and worked as a cartoonist.
