The Kuomingtang (sometimes called the Guomindang, KMT, Nationalist Party of China, Chinese Nationalist Party or Whites) are a political party in Taiwan and formerly a major force in mainland China's politics, leading the Xinhai Revolution, fighting in the Chinese Civil War and leading the resistance to the Japanese Empire during their invasion of China.

The Kuomingtang made several military blunders, including destroying several dams (leading to the worst natural disaster in the 20th century that killed between 400,000 and 4,000,000 people and wiped out 15% of the countries agricultural output) burning down the city of Changsha (killing 30,000 people and destroying 56,000 buildings) to prevent the Japanese taking the cities wealth.
