Foreign Policy

Apartheid South Africa acted as a client state of the US Empire throughout it's entire existence, acting as a base to carry out coups, invasions, assassinations and terrorist attacks against anti-american states. Such actions include:

  • 1950: The sending of 824 soldiers to fight with the US in the Korean War.[1]
  • 1961: Allegedly involved in the crashing of the plane that killed UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjöld, with aid from the CIA and MI6.[2]
  • 1964: The sending of 2,000 - 5,000 troops to assist in the Rhodesian Bush War.[3]
  • 1966: Leading the South African Border War that killed thousands, and sending 20,000 soldiers to the Angolan Civil War.
  • 1978: Assisting anti-communists in the Mozambican Civil War.
  • 1981: Attempting to overthrow France-Albert Rene of Seychelles.
  • 1986: Allegedly involved in the assassination of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme, possibly with the CIA.
